The Virginia Headwaters Council’s annual Popcorn & Peanuts campaign is underway! Once again, we have partnered with Pecatonica River Popcorn and Whitley’s Peanuts. If your unit hasn’t taken advantage of the Popcorn and Peanuts Campaign recently, now is a great time to get involved.
This season for the Popcorn product only, your unit can order popcorn to have on-hand to sell and perhaps best of all, if you have leftover product, you can return ALL of the product. This eliminates the risk of over-ordering. So what is the catch? Really nothing! Returned popcorn is used to fulfill end of campaign take orders and military donations. We encourage each unit to think about their initial order and commit to selling it. If you do not return any Popcorn or Peanut products from your initial order, you will earn an additional 3% commission.
A virtual kickoff was held on July 20 and the Zoom video will be posted at VAHC PNP website. A Google Drive repository is also available with resources such as Cub Pack incentive ideas, parent Q&A guides, sample tracking spreadsheets.

Why It Matters
The Popcorn & Peanuts campaign plays a vital role in funding programs including outdoor events, training, and scholarships across our Council. Scouts begin to learn valuable life skills (selling, public speaking, confidence, etc.) and remember that approximately 70% of retail sales remain local –with the unit or council!
