The Virginia Headwaters Council is excited to kick off another great year of Scouting with Join Scout Week, August 24–30, 2026. Every Cub Scout Pack in the Council is expected to host a Join Event during this week to welcome new families and introduce them to the adventure of Scouting.
A successful Join Event is one of the most important tools for growing your pack and ensuring that more youth have the opportunity to experience everything Scouting has to offer. Whether it’s a fun activity night, ice cream social, rocket launch, bike rodeo, or traditional sign-up night, we encourage every pack to plan an engaging event that showcases the excitement of your program.

Once your pack has finalized the date, time, and location of your Join Event, please submit the information to the Council Membership Team using the form below:

To support your fall recruitment efforts, the Virginia Headwaters Council is once again offering FREE Facebook, Instagram, and Google advertising for unit recruitment events. These professionally managed digital advertisements can help reach families in your community and drive attendance at your Join Event. The earlier you submit your event details, the more time we have to promote it!
