Shenandoah Zombie Run

SHENANDOAH ZOMBIE RUN – Not Dead Yet!!!

Oct 31,2026

REGISTRATION NOW ALIVE

Rally your friends and prepare for an adrenaline-pumping 5K adventure at Camp Shenandoah — where survival is the ultimate goal!

This thrilling course winds through the hills and wooded trails of Camp Shenandoah along Little North Mountain in Swoope, VA. You’ll sprint, jog, and strategize your way through camp—but don’t get too comfortable. Somewhere behind you the zombies are gathering.

The humans get a head start… but not for long. The siren sounds and the zombie runners are released – the chase begins.

Each human participant will wear three flags, representing your “lives.” As zombies close in, their mission is simple: grab your flags and infect as many runners as possible before the finish line. Protect at least one flag and you survive. Lose them all… and you’ve joined the undead.

This isn’t just a race against the clock — it’s a race for survival. Every participant will receive a medal at the finish line. Will yours proudly declare you a “Survivor,” or mark you as “Infected?” Zombies will have their own bragging rights for total flags captured.

Whether you’re running for your life or chasing down the living, the Zombie 5K at Camp Shenandoah promises thrills, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos.

Do you have what it takes to survive the Zombie Apocalypse? 🧟‍♂️

Amanda Womack is an avid trail runner, hiker, and outdoor adventurer from nearby Staunton, Virginia, where she lives with her son Blake, an enthusiastic Cub Scout. She has spent many years working in the run specialty industry and now helps athletes and non-athletes of all ages discover the joy of movement in her role as a Physical Therapist Assistant with ACAC Physical Therapy.

Carrie Camden is a trail-running enthusiast (and two-time Shenandoah Zombie Run finisher!) who jumped at the chance to co-direct the race with one of her closest trail friends. She’s passionate about building community through movement and is excited to help create a race day that feels fun, inclusive, and memorable for everyone. Carrie ran one of her first trail races at Philmont Scout Ranch in 2022 — which included the infamous Stockade Trail climb (IYKYK!). She returned the following year to complete her first trail marathon. Since then, she’s finished races ranging from 5K to 40 miles, happiest when the course includes dirt, elevation, and good company. When she’s not fundraising for a local independent school, you can find her logging miles with friends, coaching student-athletes, teaching yoga, or spending time with her partner and son. She can’t wait to see you at Camp Shenandoah as our community comes together to support the Virginia Headwaters Council of Scouting America.

Amanda and Carrie are excited to be part of this fun event supporting Scouting America and the important work it does for youth in our community. They look forward to seeing you there!
